Savate VS Boxing? Why are boxers bragging savate sucks?

Which is better?I heard that Savate is fast and dtrikes hard, but it`s weakness is close encounter.I heard that a boxer could defeat a Savateur if he gets close. But Savate is a kickboxing martial art,so wouldn`t a boxer have a hard time trying to punch a savateur, besides, although Savate`s biggest strengths are in its powerful kicks,Savateurs are quite fast at punching too.So why are boxers bragging that Savate sucks and boxing could defeat it easily?
AD. Details
1)In many matches,Savateurs have proven to defeat not only boxers, but also Muay Thai practitioners.(Muay Thai has far more powerful strikes and allows elbow attacks.
2)In the so called MATCH OF THE CENTURY,which is a fight between the best savateur and the best British boxer in1899,the boxer managed to come close to the savateur after avoiding his kicks, but the savateur just continuasly clinched the boxer and began punching the boxer after each clinch, eventually ending the fight with a roundhouse towards the boxer`s stomach.
3)Savateurs also trained in La Canne De Combat(which is the art of fighting with a canne). In a street fight,a proffessional boxer will easily get killed by savateur's deadly quick la canne de combat strikes.Almost 99% of boxers don't even know how to use a simple weapon like a bat properly in a street fight!
4)Savateurs also spend time in their training doin notthing but boxing training! Also, they do the same arm strengthening training that boxers do such as pushups but on far harder terrain( a boat specificlly). So don't go around saying a savateur will lose in close punching range combat easily because they have just as equal if not more punching power than a proffessional boxer! They are much faster than a typical fast proffessional boxer!
5)Savateurs are way quicker than boxers in footsteps! So even if a boxer tries to corner him,the savateur will easily slip out of the boxer's trap! And along with their fast precise kicks, a boxer WON'T BE ABLE TO GO INTO A PUNCHING RANGE WITH A SAVATEUR BECAUSE THEY'll EASILY get kicked by powerful strikes and will get damaged so easily they will get knocked in the first few kicks or even the first kick a savatuer throws!
6)Savateurs know damn painful sweeps(which they execute so damn quickly)! So even if a boxer goes into punching ranger,he will easily get swept by a Savateur and will easily lose the street figh!
7)Many savateurs also cross train with other effective close range martial arts such as Muay Thai,Catch Wrestling,Judo, and karate!

Boxers will easily lose to Savateurs!

I'm with you!

The cane/walking stick is my preferred weapon.

I first started with the Professor Pierre Vigny system that was adopted by Savate.

I have never heard a boxer compare/contrast boxing with Savate myself.

You may have heard that a boxer could defeat a Savateur IF HE GETS CLOSE...

The thing is...

A practitioner of Savate would never get close in the first place!

If he is too close he might just execute a back spring while kicking the opponent on the chin.

All i can say is, LOOK AT THE FACTS.

If savateurs had just as good boxing skills as porfessional boxers, they themselves would be prof boxers, they would be making the big money.

The simple fact is boxers train only their hands if they can get inside and unleash they would win. if the savate guy could keep at a distance he would win.

By the way boxing has changed a hell of a lot since 1899, hell jack dempsey would have killed a prof savate dude, it all depends on individual skill.

And the point that they cross train, uhh so then the boxer would go crosstrain and learn judo or bjj and muay thai or something. really all youve said is if in a no rules fight a mma fighter with a savate base would beat a pure boxer. Well duhh. But in a kickboxing rules match if the boxer could bypass the kicks, which isnt to difficult to close distance the trick is keeping it, the boxer would have a hell of a chance.

By the way savate is not trained on boats anymore, it is a sport like boxing now, not only used by french sailors. Come out of the 19 century and into the 21st

first, i haven't personally heard boxers saying this so i would either need a quote or a link to believe you. second, you don't really know what you're talking about so i don't really understand why you're having this argument with yourself
