Seriously.

I'm usually in the wedding section and I'm used to bridezillas, but dang , some of you guys in the martial arts section are just plain rude!

(And I have a feelings some of you will be coming out of the woodwork to answer this question...rudely, no doubt)

I try to be polite in the answers that I give but sometimes the stupidity of people amazes me (I do NOT mean you). I have answered one or two of your questions and I truly believe that you want help in Martial Arts.

As for people who answer question and being rude there are a number of reason for them to do this.

1 - They are teenagers who think it is cool and funny to be rude in the question that they answer.

2 - Some people have not been raised to respect other peoples options.

3 - Some people know a answer think that you should know it automatically as well.

4 - Do not take into account different cultures and races.

There are a lot of reasons why people are being rude to you, but you have to remember that this is a public website and so get a lot of wackos answering here. Just don't take it personally and laugh it off.

PS - great pic by the way.

Hi Kiki...

I get rude here. The reason is that there are MANY people here who answer and give advice that can be dangerous because you don't know who is asking some of these questions.

Like when the Pressure Point questions are asked, some of the answers come from, firstly, people that know nothing about pressure points. A kid will ask "where do you hit someone to 'fill in the blank'?" and someone will tell that person that if they "hit so-n-so spot you can hurt 'fill in the blank".

The info they give is not accurate but they often give locations that if struck, can hurt or maim someone.

Aside from the PP questions, many, many answers here are not based on sound martial arts concepts and theory. They are based on misconceptions, speculation and opinions.

I take it personal when someone is so ignorant that they would give info that might cause harm to anyone, just to show that they know something.

So I am rude to all parties guilty of such ignorance.

I TRY Never to rude with my answers. I started coming here recently when my Sensei tasked me to answer some of these to keep my mental abilities and memory upbeat. I THINK before I post a reply because I believe that if someone is coming here for advise, they would like som of the knowledge that we have gleaned through years of experience, for it seems we travel similar roads at different times. Most of the better Martial Artists are intellegent, motivated, and respectful individuals. I have noted though that there are a lot here that call themselves knowledgable but do not have the experience or training to be giving the opinions they state. There are Quite a few here that I would actually be Honored to meet, for I have seen greatness in some of the answers given...

I'm sorry some of the people here have offended you so much. You can find good people here who want to help others. But just like any other open venue you get some bad with the good.

There are many people who strongly value their own opinions but aren't inherently mean spirited. Often we see these people clash, and it can be nasty. There are also people who ask loaded questions that are designed to be controversial. If you're not familiar with this they're called "trolls". And of course some people are rude jerks. I definitely tend to counterstrike against others who are rude without cause. But you'll never get rid of them as they can anonymously be rude and not have to face anyone's wrath (this is very frustrating!!).

Taking into account that people on this forum come from different places and walks of life, you'll find many people being rude for a variety of reasons.

It might be because they are:

1. Bored and want to mess with you.

2. Lazy, and trying to score easy points.

3. Frustrated about there own difficulties, and want to take it out on you.

4. Too immature to be on this forum, and therefore unable to respond on the same level.

5. Arrogant about what they know, and don't mind belittling you.

6. Ignorant themselves, and are therefore too ignorant to realize how ignorant they are.

7. Tired of seeing vague, redundant, poorly worded, or just plain discourteous questions being posted.

Most people do it for attention, but mostly they do it for points, any answer will do, because in the end they will get points from Yahoo, it just shows what kind of person they are, plus don't worry most people are only rude on here because it is safe, most wouldn't dare be rude to a stranger in person

Mainly the only people i give rude answers too are trolls because they make me mad. But alot of times is because the same question is asked over and over and over and over again but im not rude to those people i just point to the search engine.

People who ask stupid questions usually get rude answers. Not people who don't know anything about martial arts, but people who ask things like

"LOL IF BRUCE LEI WUZ T3H D34DLIES7 DO U THINK IF HE WUZ STILL ALIEV HE CUD BEAT 400 MILION PPL UP?"

At least, that's my experience.

I never come to this section. This is, in fact, my first time ever answering a question in the MA section. However, there are rude people in all categories. It wouldn't be Y!A if there weren't rude answers afoot.

Most posts here are MMA/UFC related, and most of the MMA/UFC followers are like that. It's a mindset that they find necessary, for some reason, to make them a fighter. There are rude people everywhere though, and it seems silly to let it bother you.

But I'm curious - if you're normally in the weddings section, what prompted you to come here?

most of the rude people in here, are not the ones you should be taking any advise from anyway.... 99.9% of Martial Artist with any substancial training, are very calm, easy to get along with, and except otherpeople for their opinions, even when they disagree..

people are very passionate about certain fighters and they often times let their emotions get the best of them.

plus it seems the majority of the people in here are 12 or younger

i feel the same way but some ppl ask the dumbest questions i still agree with ya

It's good. We need rude people to spice and color the place up. They entertain, and without them, forums would be dull, let's face it.
