eg. to block a punch or kick.
Is there any sort of product out there that can help you build reaction times.
Any tips welcome

While sparring use heavier boxing gloves it makes you faster. For example, while practing for a tournament i used 16 oz gloves and it made me faster in the ring. You can also use ankle weights for your kicks, and they even have gloves with weights in them for your hands. You could spar someone, but just standing in one spot and only using your hands. You have to do it while on your knees; both of you. Don't strike, just stand there and block the other persons moves. It helps. That's i know. God Bless.

Well if you are really into Martial arts then you must find your "Ki" within. It's more than a reaction, it's the likeness to a sixth sense that martial artist tend to develop with years of training. There's a great book out there called "Zen in the martial arts", though it may not teach you drills on speeding up your reaction, it will teach the philosophy behind it. Good luck.

As the others have said, Practice ,Practice and more practice. Why: the body(brain) produces a chemical called acetal choline. This is what travels down the nervous system and causes the muscles to do their thing. The more you practice something the more choline is laid down and the more the muscles remember that specific move; causing less reaction time. As was said before by others practice both alone and with others, alone gives you the time to work on your mistakes or to just get the move down. With others:(sparring) teaches you how to avoid and how to react to each punch or kick thrown at you as well as what to expect when you do get hit. Interaction with others also allows the total body and mind to work together in a specific situation. the more people you spar with the more numerous the situations become. Another reason to work with others is to learn from them as well. Good Luck

No matter what anyone says there is no product to that can help you with this. It's all you, the more you practice the better you get. When it come to physical reaction its internal and there is no quick fix for it. Sorry but to be honest you are on your own.

certain kinds of video games can improve reaction times but you'll just get better at video games, not fighting. So the above answer is BS.

You just have to practice with another person. Your reaction time will come down more as your muscles start to reprogram themselves to react to an opponent.

there are products and herbs to increase mental focus which SHOULD consequently improve reaction time. however, nothing short of consistent repetition will improve actual reaction time as it pertains to blocking a punch or kick. one small "trick" if you will is to watch your opponent's center and use your peripheral vision to watch their knees and elbows. in order to punch or kick the elbow or knee has to move, right?

casillas proved today that he was way better than buffon, he followed every penalty the italians kicked, and he caught two but buffon just kept diving towards god knows what. casillas's speed of reaction is far greater than buffon's
