It depends on the person teaching it. Both can be effective given you have the right skills and knowledge to back up those principles.
Dim Mak does NOT mean "touch of death". That is some Westernized interpretation of it, and is complete bullcrap. Dim Mak/Dian Mai/Kyushojutsu has been totally misrepresented in the West and has become tarnished due to people's stupid ideas of it such as calling it the "Touch of Death".

Dim Mak is not real. Varma Kalai is based on the human body, but in a real fight, it is completely useless. Also, in response to Verun, Kung Fu did not begin in India. There are so many Indians these days trying to claim that they created Kung Fu and taught it to the Chinese. That is complete nonsense and pure Indian nationalism.
