I am currently studying Chi-Gong and I was wondering if Chi-Gong and Qi-Gong are the same; and in Chi-Gong are you creating your own energy or are you taking some from yourself? And do you have unlimited energy in your body? If Chi-Gong and Qi-Gong are not the same please explain the difference.

Chi=qi=qui=ki same thing different phonetic spelling. Some use the Wade Giles system and others use the Pinyin to translate chinese. It is the same thing. Chi according to the masters comes of three sources-The chi of heaven= the spirit energy bestowed at birth also called the prebirth chi.

It is the breath of life given by God the life force or energy of life. this is considered as being a fixed amount; also predicated by the parents and heredity determines your basic level of energy-are you a energetic person or a slow sleepy person etc,.The Post birth Chi or the chi of earth comes from two three sources; Food Drink and Air. The Blood is the place where breath and flesh meet as the Bible says The life of the flesh is in the blood. So the Chinese say where the blood flows the chi goes.

This energy is in the body in limitless supply and can be summoned by the minds intent and belief.

Where the mind leads the Chi follows. A simple analogy can be seen when you face a task you do not lilke or want to do suddenly you feel tired. as you do it your energy wanes. But if it is something you are looking forward to suddenly you no longer feel tired. Like a kid who can't get up for school but christmass morning he is up before dawn wide awake and excited and so energzed that he didn;t even sleep and yet feels not tiredness at all. The practice of Qi Gong is to maximize the health to bring the natural energy to it's highest. To eat purly and to breathe deeply. And the Highest priority of all RELAX RELAX RELAX! tense muscles cut off and stop the flow of energy and causes many ailments. and many can be cured simply by relaxation(Dr. Herbert Benson-The Relaxation Response.

Chi-Gong and Qi-Gong refers to the same thing - it's just spelled differently because there are so many different linguistic systems of romanization of Chinese into english that people often mix it up. Qi-gong is the ping-yin system which is the official system used in the PRC, while "chi" is from the older Wade-Giles system invented by two professors of Cambridge. I've even seen "chi-kon" and "chi-gung".

Chi or qi ( 氣 ) is the energy which according to Daoist theory flows through channels call meridans in the human body. The manipulation of this energy is what give Taich or TaiQi practitioners the boost in power to perform various martial art techniques with Taichichuan.

Qi-gong is not about creating the energy, but about using various exercises to learn how to circulate this energy unobstructed throughout the body because according to theory, it is the obstruction which causes various aliments. You are also to develop sensitivity to the flow of Qi to enable you in the next phase of training to manipulate it for the purpose of self-defense.

There is no such thing as unlimited energy. Not in Taichi and not in Physics.

Chi-Gong is the same as Qi-Gong and you dont create the energy its already there you just have to learn to harness it and yes you have unlimited energy because that energy is also in trees and every living thing its essentially energy that never ends

Ah, the ever-present answers of various levels of skepticism. This is one of the things that annoys me so much about the increasing popularity of UFC and other MMA organizations; the more popular they become, the more people are convinced that the old styles with more mysterious aspects are fraudulent. Oh well. The video I believe you're looking for is an excerpt from a show called Mind, Body, and Kickass Moves. Great show, this British martial artist goes around the world studying and investigating martial arts of all nationalities. One of the ones he talked about was this guy who was at the time Japan's kiai knockout champion. You can look it up on YouTube, but you might have to go through a few episodes before you find the right one. It's well worth watching anyway. =)
